Strategic Plan

Strategic Planning for the Illinois Principals Association is based on the belief that member involvement is necessary for Association success.

The Strategic Planning Process began for IPA in October 2006 when the Board of Directors approved the process and contracted with Core Concept Solutions to conduct a Needs Assessment of the Association. Jim Burgett was contracted as the Strategic Planning External Facilitator. On January 19, 2007 a 28 member Strategic Planning Team consisting of a cross-section of individuals from the membership, Board of Directors, and IPA Staff participated in a one day planning session to outline the direction of the Association. Team members identified the Association’s strengths and weaknesses, reviewed and revised IPA’s mission, vision, and beliefs, and developed six strategies for study and implementation. The Strategic Plan, listed below, was approved in May 2007 by the Board of Directors.  Action Plans, listed below, were developed by subcommittees of the Board of Directors and approved in January 2008.  These strategies and action plans will provide guidance and focus for continued growth and improvements of IPA for the next several years.
