Before the Crisis: Implementing Best Practices in Student Behavioral Threat Assessments

March 24, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Illinois state law (105 ILCS 128/45 Sec. 45) now requires every school to have a threat assessment team established and threat assessment procedures developed and implemented. This workshop will provide an overview of the new legal requirements as well as provide you with training that is considered “best practice” by the U.S. Dept. of Ed. and the U.S. Secret Service. Participants will be able to assess the severity of threats, analyze the safety of students and staff, and develop a plan of action to protect them. Valuable resources, including documentation, scripted protocols as well as guidance for decision making for students with IEP’s, 504, and/or BIP plans and SB100 compliance are included with the course.

Participation in this academy, which is delivered via Zoom, is interactive and requires registrants to use their web cameras and microphones during the workshop.

A special discount is available for teams of 4 or more from the same district. To receive the discounted rate, please contact Laura Adams at 217-321-9570 or email laura@ilprincipals.org.
