A Leader’s Guide to Redefining Engagement
June 15 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The participant will critique a handful of current practices and analyze learning in their school in relationship to academic engagement, egocentric engagement, and intellectual engagement (i.e., “the powerful task rubric cube”); identify and distinguish types of student (egocentric) engagement strategies (volunteerism, participation, and cognitive engagement) in learning tasks and apply the strategy of “powering up” to a learning task; evaluate types of academic engagement strategies and their impact on personal and meaningful learning; and analyze learning tasks for their use of intellectual engagement (e.g., synthesis, evaluation, analysis, application).
Participation in this academy, which is delivered via Zoom, is interactive and requires registrants to use their web cameras and microphones during the workshop.
