Charity Freeman develops integrative and innovative STEM curricula, and designs and facilitates relevant and engaging professional learning experiences for educators, at the Illinois Math and Science Academy's Center for Teaching and Learning. She serves as the Chair of the Computer Science Teachers Association’s (CSTA) National Board of Directors. Charity is also the lead instructor of the Teaching Methods in Computer Science endorsement course for in-service educators at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign's College of Education, where she's earning her PhD in Educational Psychology. During her tenure as a high school CS teacher, Charity earned her master's in educational policy from Loyola University Chicago. A diehard Bears fan, staunch supporter of the "Sears Tower," and firm believer that ketchup doesn't belong on hotdogs, Charity is proud to be an educator who's not just teaching technology, but actively reshaping how it's taught and who has access to it.
