Bob Prusator

Retired Superintendent

Bob Prusator’s educational leadership career covers 31 years as a school administrator, including 14 as a high school principal and 17 as a unit district superintendent. He served as superintendent in the Meridian #223 district (Stillman Valley), Carterville #5 and Dakota #201. Academically, all three districts earned the distinction of NICHE top 100 school districts in Illinois. In his last year as superintendent, 75% of the senior class was enrolled in college dual credit and/or career certification programs. In the extra-curricular area, these high schools won or placed in numerous IHSA state tournaments including football, soccer, wrestling, and scholastic bowl. Mr. Prusator has presented at state and national conferences on the topics of collaborative culture, social-emotional programming and the value of the athletic experience (the latter with New Trier AD Randy Oberembt). He and Mr. Oberembt have also worked with Illinois high schools and their communities in developing athletic outcomes to ensure a positive experience for all student-athletes. Mr. Prusator was a nine-year head varsity boys’ basketball coach, twice earning Coach of the Year honors. He also served as head varsity volleyball coach and head varsity softball coach. Mr. Prusator was recently elected into the Northwest Illinois Sports Hall of Fame.
