Dr. Tiffany D. Brown was appointed as the deputy chief of schools for Network 5 after serving as the principal of Wendell Smith Elementary School for ten years. Prior to that, she served as an assistant principal, math and science coach, teacher leader, and teacher for Chicago Public Schools. As network deputy chief, Tiffany is responsible for developing, coaching, and supporting school leaders in order to ensure students are provided with opportunities to be successful.
In addition, Tiffany has served as a new principal mentor, a resident principal mentor, and Chicago Principal Fellow. Prior to joining CPS, she worked across several different sectors as a chemist, beginning at Abbott Laboratory in pharmaceuticals. Moving forward, Tiffany hopes to continue supporting school leaders in closing the achievement gap by providing tiered support. In order to do so, she will emphasize the importance of creating a learning environment that supports the well-being of the whole child, both academically and emotionally.
Tiffany is a Chicago native and proud graduate of Chicago Public Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Chicago State University, a master’s degree in educational administration from American College of Education, and a doctorate degree in educational leadership from National Louis University.
