Illinois Performance Evaluation – Initial Teacher Evaluation Training

Who should take this course: AA #2001 is for anyone who will evaluate teachers and does not yet hold the teacher evaluator designation on their PEL. It is typically taken by principals, assistant principals, deans, and directors or coordinators who will evaluate teachers and other licensed staff under a district's teacher evaluation plan.
About the training: This two-day academy provides the initial training required to evaluate teachers in Illinois. It aligns with the evaluator competencies in 23 Illinois Administrative Code Part 50, Section 50.420(a–b).
Format and requirements: IPA delivers this training online through Zoom. You will need internet access, a webcam, a microphone, and a Google account. To be eligible to attend, you must complete the ISBE-required pre-work at least 72 hours before the training.
After you register: Your confirmation email from netforum@ilprincipals.org will include the Zoom link, handouts, and detailed instructions. If you don't see it in your inbox, check your spam folder or email workshops@ilprincipals.org.
Individual FormRegistration changes must be received via email at workshops@ilprincipals.org. If you do not cancel or transfer your registration at least 10 business days prior to the event and/or are not in attendance, you are responsible for full payment.
If you are unable to attend, the following options are available (provided your request is received at least 10 business days prior to the event):
- Transfer your registration to another IPA event (of equal or less value);
- Receive credit in the amount of the event eligible for all IPA events and IPA merchandise (see below for details); or
- Receive a refund (see below for details).
Information regarding credits and refunds:
- If refund/credit request is received more than 10 business days prior to the event, the refund/credit will incur a $25 service charge.
- If refund/credit request is received within 10 business days prior to the event, you are responsible for full payment.
- Credits for events and merchandise expire each year on June 30.
The IPA reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events at any time. If your event has been canceled or rescheduled, you may request a refund, credit or transfer the registration fee to another IPA event.
