As a Regional Educational Technology Coordinator (RETC) with the Learning Technology Center of Illinois, Matt Sherrill draws on 15 years of classroom experience and a passion for educational technology and AI literacy to support districts and Regional Offices of Education across Eastern Illinois. Prior to joining the LTC, Matt taught from 2009 to 2024—primarily at the middle school level—and served as ELA Department Chair from 2016 to 2024. In addition to leading curriculum and instructional initiatives, he served as a technology coach and helped establish an AI Advisory Team that guided a districtwide rollout of AI literacy for staff and students. Known for his relationship-focused approach, Matt excels at engaging educators through interactive professional learning and promoting meaningful technology integration to enhance teaching and learning.
