Stephanie Jones’ passion for public education came from her mother, who was a teacher and administrator for over forty years. Growing up in an environment where education was a core value led Stephanie to the practice of school law, where she became a leader in the field. She has nearly 25 years of experience as a general school attorney. Her expertise spans all areas of school law, including labor and employment, litigation, student matters, Title IX, special education and board governance. As former general counsel for the Illinois State Board of Education, she has unparalleled knowledge of the inner workings of the ISBE and understands what it takes to run a large governmental organization. She is a frequent speaker on school law topics, most recently speaking at LRP’s National Conference, CASE’s National Conference, and many school district inservices, administrator academies, and trainings.
