Tammy King is the Director of Early Childhood Operations and Impact at The Center Resources for Teaching and Learning. Tammy provides strategic leadership across The Center's ECBG funded projects.  In addition to leading ECPL’s statewide work on young multilingual learners, Tammy works closely with the ECPL and ECDEC Project Directors to strengthen alignment, partnerships, program growth and impact.  With over 25 years in education, she has championed equitable learning for multilingual learners from PreK-12th grade—as a bilingual teacher, program coordinator, author, advocate, and trainer. Tammy led Illinois’ Preschool English Learner Identification Project which focused on expanding the implementation of the ISBE Home Language Survey across ECEC settings. She holds degrees from DePaul and Northeastern Illinois University. But despite those degrees, she still regularly steps on her kids' Legos at home ... in bare feet.
