Tammy King is the Program Manager for Multilingual Initiatives at Early Childhood Professional Learning (ECPL) in Illinois. With over 25 years in education, she has championed equitable learning for multilingual learners from PreK-12th grade—as a bilingual teacher, program coordinator, author, advocate, and trainer. Tammy recently led Illinois’ Preschool English Learner Identification Project which focused on expanding the implementation of the ISBE Home Language Survey across ECEC settings. She holds degrees from DePaul and Northeastern Illinois University. But despite those degrees, she still regularly steps on her kids' Legos at home ... in bare feet.
