Dr. Don Parker

Dr. Don Parker is a transformational keynote speaker and professional development leader specializing in social-emotional learning (SEL), restorative practices, trauma-informed approaches, and improving school culture to foster belonging for students and staff.

A former principal, Dr. Parker led Posen School in Posen, IL, and Lincoln Avenue School in Dolton, IL, driving improvements in climate, collaboration, attendance, and achievement. Since beginning his career in 1997, he has served as teacher, Dean of Students, multiple assistant principal roles, and adjunct professor at National-Louis University. His experience spans inner-city classrooms to district leadership, applying evidence-based strategies to boost behavior and academic success.

Dr. Parker has presented nationwide at major educational conferences including ASCD, the National Principals Conference, and the Innovative Schools Summit. He is the author of Building Bridges: Engaging Students At-Risk Through the Power of Relationships and Be the Driving Force: Leading Your School on the Road to Equity. His workshops cover topics such as resilience building, culturally responsive schools, restorative practices, teacher mental health, and supporting students with Adverse Childhood Experiences.

A TEDx speaker at the “Making Moves” event in Arlington Heights, Dr. Parker inspires educators to lead with purpose and equity. He holds degrees from Wartburg College, Governors State University, and Argosy University, along with an Illinois Superintendent Certification from St. Francis University.

Dr. Parker lives in Chicago with his wife and two daughters, one of whom has FoxP1 Syndrome and autism. His family actively advocates for autism and FoxP1 awareness and supports related communities.
