Dr. Todd Pettit is an experienced school administrator who received the 2014 “Best of Collinsville Award” for his work as principal of Kreitner Elementary School. Dr. Pettit holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Quincy University, (Quincy, IL) a Masters Degree in Education – School Administration from Indiana University (Bloomington, IN) and a Doctorate of Education – School Leadership from Saint Louis University (St. Louis, MO). Dr. Pettit began working as an advocate for people of diversity during his teaching tenure mentoring LGBTQ students with the Indiana Youth Group (Indianapolis, IN) and becoming a national trainer for the National Education Association on the topic of Social Justice, Gender Bias & Sensitivity for eachers. Pettit’s doctoral research focused on the preparedness of school principals and superintendents to address the needs of students and their implicit bias of color, ethnicity, special education and sexual orientation. Dr. Pettit continues post-doctoral research and advocacy while presenting and training on the topic for local, state and national organizations including Learning Forward and the American Educational Research Association. Dr. Pettit is the Superintendent of Schools for the Quincy Public School District (Quincy, IL).
