David J. Braun is an attorney with Franczek, P.C., and focuses his practice on K-12 and higher education matters from the firm’s Champaign office. He currently serves as general counsel and primary contact for dozens of school districts of varying enrollments across the state of Illinois, as well as providing advice, defense, and investigations for schools and universities in various contexts. He has extensive experience serving clients in matters of labor management, including collective bargaining, arbitration, agency investigations, termination, and human rights complaints. David has also counseled clients on student discipline and management and provided the original draft of the Illinois Principals’ Association’s Model Student Handbook. He co-authored the Illinois School Law Survey, and teaches school law at Illinois State University.
