As a school principal, you are responsible for leading the development and implementation of an effective, research-based instructional program that meets the needs and interests of every student. Working collaboratively with your teaching staff can establish clear and consistent expectations for high-quality instruction that aligns with the school’s vision, mission, and goals. You should also monitor and evaluate the instructional program regularly, using data and feedback to identify strengths and areas for improvement. By doing so, you will foster a culture of excellence and accountability that promotes personal and academic achievement for all students.

How Explicit Instruction Addresses Intrinsic and Extraneous Cognitive Load
Educators all have the same goal—to help students make the maximum possible academic gains in a positive and respectful environment that promotes success and nurtures their desire to learn. In this series of six webinars, the participants will gain valuable knowledge from the research and work of Dr. Anita Archer and Dr. Charles Hughes on Explicit Instruction. Explicit instruction is a structured, systematic, and effective methodology for teaching academic skills. It is considered an unambiguous and direct approach that includes instructional design and delivery procedures. The majority of information will be shared by one of Dr. Archer’s trainees, Gina Fulton.
